Modigliani – Sogno Toscano – Sogno Toscano Large Shallow Basket Made in Italy

Bring the brightness and poetry of the Tuscan countryside to your table with this large basket from the Sogno Toscano collection, entirely hand‑painted in Italy. Its generous, expansive shape, defined by soft and naturally irregular lines, becomes a true ceramic canvas where the Tuscan landscape comes to life: gentle hills, rows of cypress trees, and farmhouses nestled in nature emerge through broad, blended brushstrokes that capture the region’s light and depth.

Perfect as a striking centerpiece, it adds character to both everyday dining and special occasions. Thanks to its ample size, it can also be used to serve bread, fruit, or aperitivo assortments, or simply as a decorative element that brings color and craftsmanship into any space. Each basket is one of a kind, featuring a handle that varies from piece to piece, shaped and applied by hand — a distinctive hallmark of Modigliani’s artisanal work.

Made from Tuscan terracotta and finished with Modigliani’s exclusive triple‑layer glazing technique, it enhances the richness of the colors and gives movement to the decoration, making it vibrant and full of nuance.

Our history

Founded in the early 1980s, the Modigliani brand is actually heir to a tradition in glasses and ceramics that began in Rome in the late 19th century with a small shop in the historic center of the capital.

Modigliani has always known how to combine the Italian manufacturing tradition with a strong impetus towards technical and formal innovation, giving life to a new aesthetic language in the ceramic design.

Writing on Modigliani, therefore, means referring to a completely new way of interpreting ceramics. This for 4 generations.

Our mission

At the base is the renowned Italian manufacturing tradition, appreciated globally for its quality. Modigliani’s creations stand out for their innovative aesthetic language, which has given new life to an ancient material, attracting not only lovers of the classic, but also those seeking modern solutions for table and home furnishings.

Thus, Modigliani quickly established itself as a leader in the ceramics sector, introducing new trends for tableware and objects.
